I hope someone may be able to help

My 07 Galaxy Ghia 2.0 TDCI would not start and the head lights were on constant. It had been working ok all morning but on my way home I stopped in a lay by for half hour and the engine would not turn over. All dash lights seemed normal except with the head lights switch in the off position the lights we always on. I called for recovery and i was tow started and the car ran ok. I took the car to a local garage and they checked all fuses, all ok. No feed to the starter motor is present with the key in the start position. If you run I wire from the battery + to the starter it turns over and runs ok. The other problems I noticed was the climate control did not work, The cruise control did not work, The auto wiper did not work and the airbag light was on.

For some reason, all the lighting, climate and cruise controls have started working again on their own.

I have temporarily wired in a manual starter switch but has anyone got a wiring schematic for the MK3 Galaxy so I can try to see where the feed has been lost. Is it all fed to a control module?

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks Gregers, I will check that now.

I had the battery replaced about 18 months ago Chrispb so I think it's ok, also it turns over fine with my tempory switch I have made.

Thanks for your suggestions, I will keep you posted.

Update, it's all working again. I don't know what caused the problem though! I took it to my friendly ford garage and they read out a long string of p and u codes. Reset them and all works again. Very strange, most of the codes were communication fail between the different modules on the can bus. The best bit was they did not charge me. Thank you for your comments and suggestions and thank you to Gates of Stevenage.
